In anticipation of the transposition of the EU Pay Transparency Directive, on the 27th June 2025 new rules were introduced in virtue of Legal Notice 112/2025.
As from the 27th August 2025, applicants for employment shall have the right to receive from the prospective employer the following information:
- initial pay, or its range, which is to be attributed to the position concerned;
- the relevant pay provisions of the collective agreement as applied by the employer in relation to the position (if applicable).
This information is to be provided to the workers before the commencement of their employment.
Furthermore, workers shall also have the right to request their individual pay level and the pay levels for categories of workers performing performing the same work as them from their employer. Employees can request this information from their employer at any time during their employment. The employer is duty bound to provide such information upon written request by the worker within a reasonable period of time but in any event within a period not exceeding two (2) months from the date on which the request is made.
