Charlene Baldacchino Gauci

Senior Associate

Charlene Baldacchino Gauci is a Senior Associate at Mifsud & Mifsud Advocates, specialising in Employment Law and Maritime Law.

As an employment lawyer, Charlene provides legal counsel to employers and employees alike, as they seek guidance on their rights and obligations within the framework of employment law. Over the years, Charlene has garnered extensive experience representing clients before the Industrial Tribunal and the Superior Courts of Malta in a number of cases involving termination of employment, redundancy, unfair and constructive dismissal, health and safety, and sexual harassment in the workplace. Beyond litigation, Charlene seeks dispute resolution, skilfully facilitating complex negotiations to secure mutually beneficial out-of-court settlements.

Promoting healthy working environments is a key focus for Charlene, who works hand in hand with various human resources departments in the drafting and implementation of Company Policies and Procedures, providing essential training to employees in employment law matters. In fact, she has also delivered a number of lectures and seminars on employment law matters, including health and safety regulations. Charlene further provides legal counsel during company audits, whereby she provides legal guidance on health and safety requirements, assesses adherence, and provides recommendations for regulatory compliance.

Charlene also has extensive experience practicing Maritime Law, whereby she provides legal assistance to clients on the sale and acquisition of pleasure and commercial yachts as well as the registration of such vessels with the Maltese authorities. Charlene also provides legal advice to owners and crewmembers in relation to their employment on board the vessels, including advice on social security matters.

Charlene joined Mifsud & Mifsud Advocates as a Legal Trainee in 2015. She was admitted to the Maltese Bar and granted her warrant to practice as a lawyer in 2018, after she obtained her Bachelor of Laws (Honours) degree in 2016 and her Master of Advocacy in 2017 at the University of Malta.
